Interfaces with Basic Education

Some professors of the Program have participated in extension projects with involvement in basic education, mainly working on the issue of sovereignty and food security, such as Saberes da Terra, a project developed by the Institute of Educational Sciences of UFPA, PRONERA (National Education Program in Agrarian Reform) and PARFOR (National Teacher Training Program). In the latter, professors participate teaching classes to teachers who are in the process of formation and work in basic education in their municipalities of origin. Some PPGAA research groups have also been developing projects aimed at students from public schools in neighborhoods in need from Belém in order to work on issues related to food and food security. Masters students routinely undertake their teaching internships in rural family houses (CFR's) or Family-Agricultural Schools (EFA's). These experiences have allowed for successful exchanges of experiences. In addition, there is an involvement of some teachers in the Paraense Forum of Field Education (FPEC).
